Sanitas Student Insurance Price
Sanitas International Students pricing is set by four things: your age band, the province where you'll live, your course length and any optional supplements. Here is exactly how it works — and where to see your own figure instantly.
Four factors set your monthly premium
Your monthly price is the official Sanitas rate for your age band and province, plus any optional supplements, with the statutory 0.15% Consorcio surcharge applied. Your policy total is simply that monthly figure multiplied by your course length in months (3–14).
Age band
Rates step at 14–15, 16–19, 20–30 and 31–35. Younger students pay less.
Province
Most of Spain shares one rate. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and the Balearic Islands are priced separately — Ibiza and Formentera are the highest.
Course length
3 to 14 months. Your total equals months × monthly premium — consulates normally expect proof of payment in advance for the whole stay.
Optional supplements
Pharmacy reimbursement (50% of prescribed medicines, max €200/year) adds €4.30/month. Traffic and occupational accidents cover adds €2.70/month.
Monthly rates for most provinces
These are the first-year rates that apply across most of Spain — including student cities such as Granada, Salamanca, Alicante and Málaga. Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Zaragoza, A Coruña, Vizcaya and the Balearics have their own tables; the quote calculator holds every province and shows your exact figure instantly.

These are base rates. The statutory 0.15% Consorcio surcharge is added on top, so the lowest figure the calculator actually shows is €42,71 a month — €384,43 over nine months. Payment frequency and the annual discount
Annual payment attracts a discount and can be made by credit card or bank transfer. Monthly instalments are available only by direct debit from a Spanish bank account in your name. Worth knowing for your visa file: Spanish embassies and consulates normally require proof of payment in advance for the whole stay as evidence of sufficient cover.
