Sanitas policy rules: cover starts on the 1st of a month and runs in whole months (3–14). You can contract up to six months ahead; the certificate is issued after acceptance and payment.
Consulate guidance — check yours: many consulates expect cover from one month before your course starts to fifteen days after it ends, but each consulate sets its own requirements. If the one-month-before date falls mid-month, choose the 1st of that month rather than the next.
