Check If You Qualify — in 60 seconds
Six quick questions, no personal details. Find out whether the Sanitas International Students plan fits your situation — or whether a different route will serve you better — before you ask for a quote.
Who the Sanitas International Students plan is for
The checker above gives you an answer in about a minute. If you would rather read the criteria, they are set out here in full — and the same conditions decide what the price calculator will quote you.
If you are 14 to 17
You can be insured on this plan, but an adult over 18 — a parent, legal guardian or grandparent — is the policyholder and signs the application. The health questions are answered about you, the student. How the application works explains the steps.
If you are over 35, or bringing family
The student plan stops at 35 and covers one person. Sanitas Residents and Residents Platinum cover both situations, and we review which fits before anything is issued.
If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss student
You do not need a student visa, so the visa-compliance conditions on this site do not apply to you in the same way. A European Health Insurance Card covers state healthcare during a temporary stay. Private cover is an optional upgrade — for a private network, shorter waits and English-speaking care — rather than something the visa requires of you.
Does qualifying mean my visa is approved?
No. Meeting the plan's eligibility criteria means you can take out the policy. The visa decision rests with the Spanish consulate or immigration authorities, based on your whole application. What the policy does is satisfy the insurance part of the file — see what consulates check and the certificate they ask for.
Eligibility, premium and policy terms are confirmed before the policy is issued.
